The Middle East is Exploding: Is a New Iranian Government Actually Possible?
Things in the Middle East just took a massive, scary turn. On Saturday, February 28, 2026, the U.S. and Israel launched “Operation Epic Fury,” a series of heavy airstrikes right in the middle of the day. They hit over 30 targets across Iran, including the capital city, Tehran. The main goal was to take out Iran’s military leaders and stop their nuclear program for good. President Trump called the mission “massive” and even told the Iranian people that now is their chance to “take over” their own government and find freedom.
But Iran didn’t stay quiet. They immediately fired back, launching a huge wave of missiles and drones at Israel and U.S. military bases in places like Qatar, the UAE, and Bahrain. One missile even hit a U.S. Navy base in Bahrain, and explosions were heard near airports in Dubai. While some leaders in the region are calling this a “historic moment” that could change everything, others are terrified that we’re watching the start of a much bigger, more expensive war that will be hard to stop.
