Why did Lakshya Sen’s dream finish in a heartbreak today?
India’s badminton star Lakshya Sen was just one step away from making history at the prestigious All England Open. After a grueling week of beating the world’s best players, he faced Taiwan’s Lin Chun-Yi in the final. Unfortunately, despite a massive fight and some spectacular rallies, Lakshya fell just short, losing the match in two straight sets.
It was a tough pill to swallow for the 24-year-old, who has now finished as the runner-up in this tournament twice. He fought through blisters and exhaustion from his earlier matches, but Lin was just too strong on the day. Even though he didn’t win the gold, Lakshya has proven he’s still one of the most dangerous players on the planet.
