Will Kartik Aaryan’s Snake-Shifting Saga Skip the Big Screen?
The buzz around Kartik Aaryan’s latest project, Naagzilla: Naag Lok Ka Pehla Kaand, just reached a whole new level. Amazon Prime Video recently confirmed at their “It Starts Here” event that they have officially locked in the post-theatrical streaming rights for this wild “creature comedy.” While some fans were worried it might go straight to OTT, the plan is still for a massive theatrical release on August 14, 2026, just in time for the Independence Day weekend. Kartik plays a carefree, shape-shifting serpent named Preyamvadeshwar Pyare Chand, whose life flips upside down when a villain goes after his sacred Naagmani.
Produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Fukrey fame Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, this film is being described as a total “fun-filled riot” with heavy-duty VFX. The shoot officially wrapped up in Mumbai on March 16, 2026, and the team is now diving deep into post-production to bring the mythical “Naag Lok” to life. With Prime Video on board for the digital premiere after it hits cinemas, the movie is set to be one of the biggest and most unique entertainers of the year. It’s definitely a bold move for Kartik, stepping into a role that feels like a modern, hilarious spin on the classic Indian snake legends!
