Tamil Nadu’s political scene just got a bit more interesting! Actor-turned-politician Vijay, the chief of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), has filed a fresh election affidavit for the upcoming 2026 polls. Why the sudden change? It turns out his initial paperwork missed a couple of details: two pending police cases (FIRs) that have now been officially declared.
The first case involves an alleged public disturbance during his recent campaign in Perambur, while the second dates back to an incident at a party conference in 2025. Vijay explained that he actually found out about the recent case through social media! Aside from the legal updates, the new filing also lists his impressive assets, totaling over ₹630 crore. He’s currently set to contest from two seats—Perambur and Tiruchirappalli East—as he makes his big debut in the race for the Tamil Nadu Assembly.
