Did Rick Moranis Really Just Say Yes? The Massive Cast Reveal for the New ‘Spaceballs’!
The wait for the “search for more money” is almost over! Amazon MGM Studios has officially locked in April 23, 2027, as the release date for the long-awaited sequel to the 1987 cult classic Spaceballs. While the official title is still a mystery, fans are already losing their minds over the fact that comedy legend Mel Brooks is not only producing but will be returning to the screen. Even more shocking? Rick Moranis is reportedly coming out of a 30-year live-action acting hiatus to reprise his iconic role as Dark Helmet!
The sequel features a perfect mix of old-school legends and new comedy heavyweights. Original stars Bill Pullman (Lone Starr) and Daphne Zuniga (Princess Vespa) are back, joined by newcomers Josh Gad, Keke Palmer, and The Bear’s Anthony Carrigan. Josh Gad, who also co-wrote the script, recently teased that it might be the funniest thing he’s ever worked on. With Josh Greenbaum directing and a wrap party already in the books, it looks like we’re finally going to see what “ludicrous speed” looks like in 2027!
