Can Iran’s President Convince Trump That Nukes Are “Banned”?
Right now, the world is watching a high-stakes meeting in Geneva that could decide the future of the Middle East. To help calm things down, Iranian President Pezeshkian just reminded everyone that their Supreme Leader has a “religious ban” on nuclear weapons. He’s essentially saying that building a bomb is against their faith, so the U.S. shouldn’t worry. This is a big move to try and get a deal signed before a 10-day deadline set by President Trump.
The situation is incredibly tense because while they talk, the U.S. has already sent a massive fleet of warplanes and ships to the region as a warning. The deal on the table is simple: Iran gives up its nuclear fuel, and the U.S. stops the harsh sanctions that are hurting Iran’s economy. If this “religious promise” convinces the U.S. to trust them, we could see a historic peace deal. If not, the risk of a military strike becomes much higher.
