Can’t Use Thalaivar’s Hits? Why CSK Just Said Goodbye to Rajini’s Music!
Looking for the latest “Hukum” remix on the CSK page? You might be waiting a while! The Chennai Super Kings have officially informed the Madras High Court that they will stop using music, background scores, and even iconic dialogues from Rajinikanth’s latest blockbusters in their promos. This includes hits from Jailer, Jailer 2, and Coolie. The move comes after Sun TV Network—the powerhouse behind Sun Pictures and owners of the rival Sunrisers Hyderabad—filed a copyright lawsuit claiming the team used these tracks without permission to hype up their 2026 jersey launch and new signings like Sanju Samson.
The legal drama kicked off when Sun TV noticed their copyrighted tunes, composed by Anirudh Ravichander, being used for commercial gain on social media. While CSK pointed out they’ve used such clips for years without issues, they’ve agreed to play it safe and hit the “mute” button on unlicensed content. The franchise has already pulled the disputed videos and promised the court they won’t use the Superstar’s tracks again unless they get a proper license. It looks like the “Yellove” army will have to find a new beat as they gear up for their season opener on March 30!
