There is growing industry buzz that Dhurandhar 2 might be postponed. The reported reason is a combination of internal issues at Jio Studios and complications related to OTT streaming rights.
According to trade talk, Jio Studios is currently going through internal restructuring and strategic realignment. When such changes happen within a major studio, big-budget projects often face temporary delays due to financial approvals, revised marketing strategies, or leadership decisions. These internal adjustments can directly impact release timelines.
At the same time, there is another important factor — digital streaming rights. The first film, Dhurandhar, is currently streaming on Netflix, while Dhurandhar 2 is expected to stream on JioHotstar. Having Part 1 and Part 2 on different OTT platforms can create marketing and franchise continuity challenges. Studios usually prefer to keep an entire franchise under one digital platform for better long-term value.
Because of these internal studio matters and OTT alignment discussions, the sequel’s release could be pushed to a later date. However, there is no official confirmation yet.
