Did His Daughter Stop Him? The Real Reason Chris Hemsworth Kept a Tattoo He Hated
Even a God of Thunder can have a change of heart. Chris Hemsworth recently admitted on the SmartLess podcast that he started getting a tattoo removed simply because he was “sick of it.” The ink, located on his bicep, is a character from the Dr. Seuss book Oh, the Places You’ll Go!—a story his mother used to read to him and that he now reads to his own children. However, after just one painful laser session, he pulled the plug on the whole process for a reason that will melt your heart.
It turns out his 13-year-old daughter, India, was the one who saved the ink. When she saw the tattoo starting to fade, she was devastated, asking her dad, “What happened to it? It’s rubbing off!” Despite Chris thinking she was bored of it too, she insisted she loved it. To keep his daughter happy, Hemsworth decided to live with the half-faded character. He even shared that he’s since added more “scribble” tattoos to his arm—actual drawings by India that he chose over professional designs because they meant so much more to him.
