It was a massive night for South Indian cinema at the 70th Filmfare Awards South, held this Sunday at the Adlux Convention Centre in Kochi. The big winners of the evening were exactly who you’d expect: Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule absolutely crushed it in the Telugu categories, while the Tamil hit Amaran and Prithviraj’Aarum ee veetham Aadujeevitham (The Goat Life) walked away with the top honors for their respective industries.
Over in the Kannada category, the gritty thriller Shakhahaari bagged Best Film, with acting trophies going to Srii Murali for his role in Bagheera and Akshatha Pandavapura for Koli Esru. It was a star-studded celebration that proved just how much incredible talent is coming out of the regional film scenes right now.
