Targeting Kerala or Targeting Criminals? What the Producer Really Thinks of the Controversy!
The creator of The Kerala Story 2, Vipul Shah, is finally speaking out after a high-stakes legal battle. After the Kerala High Court lifted the ban on his film, Shah told the media that neither he nor his team has anything against the state of Kerala. He believes the court’s decision to vacate the stay is the ultimate “stamp of approval,” proving the movie is rooted in real-life truths and hard work rather than propaganda. He’s now urging everyone to watch the film with an open mind, promising that it targets criminals, not the beautiful “God’s Own Country.
“For Shah, this wasn’t just a legal win—it was a fight for survival. He argued that stopping the release would have “financially finished” his team, especially with the movie set to hit over 1,500 screens. Now that the shows have officially started opening, the producer feels that the prayers of thousands of victims have been answered. By clearing the film, the court basically said that the Censor Board’s expert opinion matters more than a few controversial clips, giving the “Goes Beyond” sequel its long-awaited chance to be seen by the public.
