Actor-turned-politician Vijay has just made a massive move by announcing that his party, Tamizhaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), will contest all 30 seats in the upcoming Puducherry Assembly elections entirely on its own. By skipping traditional alliances, Vijay is betting big on his “star power” and a fresh face for politics, officially releasing a full list of 30 candidates who will fight under the party’s new ‘Whistle’ symbol.
The candidate list is a strategic mix of seasoned veterans and fresh talent. It includes big names like former BJP state president V. Saminathan, former DGP V.J. Chandran, and ex-legislators from both the AIADMK and Congress. Notably, the party is also fielding two women candidates from the Mangalam and Kadirkamam constituencies. With the election set for April 9, 2026, all eyes are now on whether this “solo act” can disrupt the long-standing dominance of the major power blocs.
