Is the New CM Already Under Fire? Stalin’s Warning to Vijay!
The honeymoon period for Tamil Nadu’s new Chief Minister, Vijay, might be shorter than expected. Former CM and DMK leader M.K. Stalin has issued a sharp warning, telling the actor-turned-politician that “people are watching you.” The tension flared up after Vijay’s party, the TVK, secured its majority by accepting support from a rebel AIADMK splinter group led by C.Ve. Shanmugam. Stalin cautioned that relying on opportunistic alliances and “defectors” to stay in power could damage the public’s trust, especially since Vijay promised a “clean” alternative to traditional Dravidian politics.
Beyond the alliance drama, the two leaders are already clashing over the state’s finances. Vijay recently claimed he inherited an “empty treasury” with a massive ₹10 lakh crore debt, but Stalin quickly fired back, calling the statement a “distraction tactic.” He reminded the new CM that governance is much harder than giving “Kutty Story” speeches at movie events and urged him to focus on continuing welfare schemes instead of making excuses. With the DMK vowing to “closely watch” the government for the next six months, it’s clear that the political battle in Tamil Nadu is only just beginning.
