Is This Ultra-Violent Action Epic Truly India’s Best Movie of the Year?

Director Aditya Dhar’s explosive spy thriller, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, is taking the international streaming world by storm after shattering global box office records with a staggering ₹1,800 crore theatrical run. Following its overseas debut on Netflix, the Ranveer Singh-starrer instantly blasted into the platform’s Global Top 10 charts, with captivated viewers across the US, UK, and Canada officially dubbing it “the best Indian movie of the year.” What has international audiences utterly hooked—and drawing massive comparisons to the grand, slow-motion scale of Zack Snyder’s Justice League—is the streaming platform’s exclusive “Raw & Undekha” cut. This international edition features an unrated, visceral version of the film, restoring jaw-dropping, graphic action sequences and uncensored dialogue that were originally trimmed for theaters.

While global netizens obsess over Ranveer’s fierce performance as a deep-cover intelligence operative infiltrating Karachi’s criminal underworld, fans back home are facing a bit of a wait due to a unique, staggered streaming strategy. In India, the blockbuster will make its first digital splash on JioHotstar on June 4, followed by a domestic Netflix release on June 19. The intense online hype surrounding the film’s international streaming success has already sparked a massive wave of demands from Indian cinephiles, who are eagerly campaigning to get the same uncut, adrenaline-fueled international version on their local screens.
